At 10 years of age I picked up my first camera. It was a Polaroid instant given to me by my late father and it was much loved. Like many children though, as I grew up I did other things and it wasn’t until 2009 that I decided to concentrate more fully on photographic art by undertaking a BA Hons degree with Cardiff Metropolitan University and Bridgend College.
In 2016 I completed my MA in Contemporary Dialogues with University of Wales Trinity Saint David in Swansea South Wales with my major work concentrating on exploring the notion of identity and representation within alternative photographic processes. This work resulted in a portfolio of works which combine digital and analogue photography to produce a series of chemigrams which, while dispensing with the requirement for the camera, are nonetheless identifiable as photographic images. In addition, I have an interest in the materiality of the image and am currently engaged in exploring the interweaving of identities through sewn images and 3d printing.
My work has featured in four group exhibitions:
Photograffig student show May 2013 Pierhead Building Cardiff
Photograffig graduate show May 2014 St Davids Hall Cardiff
Outset September 2014 The Gate, Cardiff
MADE MA Graduate Show May 2016 Volcano Theatre Swansea
All my images are available for sale, please see links page for further details on how to purchase as well as details of my book publications.
